So to help future management students sharpen their skills “Abhivyakt”- The Communication Club of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida organized their first comms meet on 23rd August 2019.
The event began with a warm welcome of the audience by anchors. Dr. Shalini Verma (Chairperson), Prof. Abhijit Nair (Faculty member), Dr. Ashwani Kumar and Prof. Rahul Singh were the faculties present in the meet.
The event started with a stand-up comedy act performed by Ms. Samridhi of the section. She delivered a splendid performance on the topic “problems caused due to lack of communication” and the auditorium was filled with joy.
After filling up the auditorium with joy a short clip was shown to the students to get in touch with the emotional side. The clip was all about depicting the monotony of life and how society tries to control the ambitions of children and by doing small things in life we can make our life colorful again.
And then the most awaited event of the meet began which was “Pictured”. The students were asked to form a team of 2. The three rounds were:
In the first round, one of the participants from each team had to draw a reference to the given movie on board with the other member guessing the name of the movie through the reference within 60 seconds. The round was such a hit that the students enjoyed a lot. 8 out of 12 teams proceeded to round 2.
The second round had simple rules. One of the team members was given a famous character from a movie or a series and they had to enact without using a word with the other member guessing. Five teams cleared this round.
In the final round of the event, the team went head-on with each other as each team member was asked to guess a maximum number of given objects based on the references given by other team members.
The winners of the last round were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1000 and the second runner up got a cash prize of Rs. 500.
Students were elated and refreshed with the learnings on communication from such an informative yet fun event.
